This city’s gathering begins on December 28th on the harbor and ends with a dope fireworks show launched from 17 different points along the coast.Throughout the day, rest up because there will also be a huge beach party that goes well into the morning on January 1st.

Most people would tell you to join the party-goers at the Champs Elysees, but unless you’re 21 with endless energy and patience, dead that. We say head to Montmarte, the city’s red light district and find random street parties with much more character & culture and a lot less people. It’ll be a great time away from the madness in the city!

WGT Pro Tip: Opt for the metro as you’re getting around for the day/ evening. It’s free and it’ll run all night long!

With only a few hours of daylight, Reykjavik gets lit EARLY! Their celebration starts once the sun sets with small community bonfires, then ends with a huge firework show that’s best seen from Pearl. After the show is over, head to Prikid (hip hop jams) to party the rest of the night away…oh, and make sure you grab a hot dog to sop up the libations before you head back to your hotel *emoji eyes*

WGT Pro Tip: Don’t let the hype of the holidays make you forget how expensive Reykjavik really is. To avoid spending your whole life savings in the club, we recommend picking up a few bottles of your fave liquor from the airport when you arrive. Your bank account will thank you.

For an unforgettable experience in an unforgettable place, you have to book a trip to Cape Town for NYE. Skip the club, and head to one of South Africa’s natural wonders, Table Mountain. You can hike or take a cable car to the summit, have a picnic and chill with other peeps as you watch the the V & A Waterfront fireworks from the best seat in the house. Once the show is done around 12:30, head to one of Cape Town’s local beaches to keep the party going!

WGT Pro Tip: As we mentioned, there were be plenty of impromptu parties on the beach, so don’t forget to pack some suits! Seasons here are the opposite of the U.S., so expect summer temps which gives you permission to show off your melanin.
